Freshwater East Beach is renowned for it’s blue tranquil water and fresh broad golden sands. The beach slopes gently into the sea, making it ideal for families. Backed by dunes with a freshwater stream running into the sea, and grassy headlands, this sheltered beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts; surfing, windsurfing, canoeing/kayaking and sailing are prevalent. Fishingis also a favoured pastime with local fishermen launching their boats from theslipway. There are café and toilet facilities and ample parking near the beach. Only a few minutes walk away the Freshwater Bay Holiday Park is superbly located with a bar and café – The Longhouse - open all summer.

The purpose-built holiday park is located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.  Bordered by woodland and set in well maintained grounds, Trewent Park, also known as Freshwater Bay Holiday Village, is sheltered by the National Trust headland, Trewent Point, a natural wind break. From the site a short, level walk (100 yards) leads to the safe, sandy beach of Freshwater East and also gives access to the long distance Coast Path. Trewent Park is an ideal base for exploring the Castlemartin Peninsula, including the Stackpole Estate where you will find Bosherston Lily Ponds, Broadhaven Beach and Barafundle Bay.

The holiday houses are arranged in short terraces surrounded by lawned areas with trees and shrubs. They provide ideal self catering accommodation for families and those keen on watersports and walking breaks. There are about 300 units on the park. The majority of them are privately owned. Although it is a large park, it is generally quiet. * Please note that no dogs are allowed within the park grounds. *

Freshwater East offers a friendly village pub serving good food, a chalet bar and restaurant and an Outdoor Activities Centre. It makes an ideal base to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and some of the most spectacular beaches in the UK.

The beaches of Barafundle, Manorbier, and Freshwater West, can be accessed either by walking the coast path, driving or cycling via a network of green lanes. The area is excellent for surfing, diving and climbing, and local wildlife is abundant. Freshwater East is only 7 miles drive from the historic walled town and popular seaside resort of Tenby and only three miles from Pembroke town with its magnificent Tudor Castle.

There are a number of historic sites and castles also close by in Lamphey, Manorbier and Carew, to name a few, and there are a number of Activity Leisure Parks in the area, these include; Folly Farm, Oakwood, Heatherton and the Dinosaur Park. So whatever the weather there is plenty to do.
