Awelfan Access Statement

  • The property is approached from drives on each side, both sloping gradually upward. One is tarmac, the other is gravelled and both drives will accommodate 3-4 cars. There is also roadside parking space for 2-3 cars in front of property.  There is a wide,level path along the front of the house with 3 x 4.5”depth steps set widely apart from the left drive and one from the right. There is a 6”deep doorstep to the door threshold. There is street lighting as well as external lighting .
  • The front door leads into a tiled hallway leading upstairs and through to the kitchen, breakfast room and conservatory which are all tiled and on one level.
  • The stairs have a handrail on the left side and a wall to the right. The stairs are well lit with lighting and a velux window. The top of the stairs brings you to a spacious, separate, private tiled bathroom with bath/shower over, bidet, WC, wash hand basin and chair. The bathroom has a window giving natural light.
  • Opposite the bathroom is the second twin room with fitted wardrobe, bedside tables , chest of drawers, hospitality tray, TV dorma window with garden and countryside views.
  • There is a single stair up to the landing with a lintel above leading to the main twin room on the left. This room has fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, dressing table, and hospitality tray, TV with video player, hairdryer, radio alarm easy chair and sea views from the window.
  • The landing turns right and leads to the large Double/family room with a spacious ensuite tiled bathroom with bath/shower over (handrails on baths, no slip mats), WC, wash hand basin and chair. The bathroom has a window giving natural light. There are 3 windows all with sea views, double aspect looking over the St.Davids and Strumble Head peninsular and the Preseli Hills. There are fitted wardrobes, a dressing table, bedside tables, hospitality tray, TV, hairdryer, radio alarm. A small sofa and coffee table, double bed and a single bed with a pull out bed under.
  • The heated indoor pool is approached through the patio doors of the conservatory, there is a step out of the conservatory, turn left along the patio then to the right there are 3 steps leading up to the door into the pool room.

    The pool is a lap pool being 4 ft 6” deep, 32” long and about 7ft wide. There is a ladder steps. To the rear of the pool is a changing room with walk in shower, WC and hand wash basin. The pool is well lit with many windows and lighting also.
    The garden and conservatory are available for guests to enjoy and there are benches, tables and chairs outside.
  • Next to Awelfan is a telephone kiosk and within a 5 minute walk there is a petrol station with a mini supermarket which is well stocked and open long hours daily. There is also a Public house, which serves food.
  • Trefin is a mile away and has a post office, public house, art gallery and tea rooms, pottery and weaving centre.Trefin also has the little cove of Aberfelin and the coastal path.
  • Awelfan is located on the border of the coastal national parkland and sits back off the A487, looking toward Trefin and the sea  at Square and Compass, almost opposite the turning for Trefin. 6 miles from St.Davids and 9 miles from Fishguard. The property faces Northwest toward the St. Davids peninsular and the back garden faces Southeast.
  • There are maps, walking guides and local information leaflets available.
  • Within a couple of miles are Abercastle, Carreg Sampson, Abereiddi and the Blue Lagoon, Treath Llyfn, Porthgain and its well known galleries, and The Sloop and The Shed.
